- Empire of The Sun J. G. Ballard. It is about a boy lost around Shanghai during WWII. It reminds a lot of Painted Bird by Jerzy Kosinski, except that Jerzy wanders around East Europe during same period. Both books are autobiographical! Maybe it is a good idea to read them both at the same time.
I would be now seeking to obtain the movie and maybe english (original) version, since i have read the cro version (Dec 2006)
